Dwaynamics Nourishment Hub

Born from the community’s growing struggle with food insecurity and poverty, the Nourishment Hub embodies DSF’s philosophy of healing through food and fellowship. It provides hot meals, grocery parcels, and essential supplies weekly, supported by partners such as the Pret Foundation, City Harvest, M&S, and the Healthy Living Platform. More than a foodbank, it is a trauma-informed safe space where people share stories, receive emotional and spiritual support, and regain dignity. Police officers, NHS Outreach Workers, councillors, and volunteers join regularly, deepening trust between residents and institutions. The Hub has measurably improved wellbeing, nutrition, and community cohesion — saving lives and restoring hope.

Pastor Lorraine Jones Burrell MBE is a nationally respected community leader, author, and founder of the Dwayne Simpson Foundation (DSF) and Dwaynamics Boxing Gym & Community Centre in Lambeth. After the tragic loss of her son Dwayne to knife crime in 2014, she transformed her pain into purpose, building trusted safe spaces that now support thousands of young people, families, and vulnerable adults across Brixton, Loughborough Park and beyond.

With over a decade of grassroots leadership, Pastor Lorraine is recognised for her relentless work in violence reduction, youth empowerment, trauma-informed support, community healing and partnership building. Her Nourishment Hub, Starlight Outreach Programme, Pathways to Success initiative and boxing academy are lifelines for those facing poverty, bereavement, mental-health challenges, and social exclusion.

She works closely with the Metropolitan Police, local government, national policymakers, schools, and corporate partners to improve community trust, strengthen safeguarding, and deliver real change on the ground. Her influence continues to grow through media engagement, public speaking, and her newly published book Let the Healing Begin, which inspires hope and resilience.

Honoured with an MBE by King Charles III, Pastor Lorraine remains a powerful advocate for peace, unity, and the next generation.
